Account and book settings

Changing the title, point of view and subject of a book, your writing target, your details and shipping address, and the difference between archiving and deleting.

Reflects YourBook 1.5 · Updated 11 September 2026

Two sets of settings: one for each book, and one for you. Book Settings is reached from the settings button on the Book tab. Your Account page opens from your profile avatar.

Book Settings

  • Book Details: Edit Title & Description, and Edit Cover. See Designing your cover.
  • Writing Style: Point of View (first or third person) and Subject Name ("Who is this book about?"). Changing these steers all future writing. Chapters already written keep their text until you rewrite them.
  • Writing Goals: your target word count and page count, used for the progress shown on Home.
  • Export & Share: Export Book and Order Print Copy. See Exporting your book and Ordering a printed copy or ebook.
  • Book Management: Archive Book sets a book aside without deleting it. Archived Books ("Set aside, not forgotten") lists them, with Restore or Delete Book Permanently.
  • Danger Zone: Delete Book, with confirmation.

If the book has ended up with the wrong name or is written from the wrong point of view, see The book has the wrong name or point of view.

Your Account page

  • Your details: your full name and phone number, with your account email shown.
  • Shipping address: save it once here and it fills in your print orders.
  • Billing, Manage Payment (update your payment method), Redeem Gift Code, Terms & Privacy, Help & Support, and Sign Out.
  • Delete Account: permanently deletes your account and every recording, transcript and book you've made. It can't be undone, and asks you to confirm.

Three very different things. Archive Book is reversible and keeps everything. Delete Book removes one book. Delete Account removes everything you have ever made in YourBook. If you just want a book out of the way, archive it.
